UAV Digital Twin Precision Landing

Abstract

UAVs have ignited our curiosity to understand the mechanism of flight and improve the way these vehicles fly to enable them to be of great benefit in various applications such as exploration, package delivery, warehouse inventory scanning, military use, and many other applications. Nevertheless, these applications of drones face limitations due to their precision landing accuracy. The problem occurs due to sensing errors, control algorithms, external factors, and operator errors. Also, the current system needs to make it possible to fix real-time errors caused by the environment. Our research aims to help UAVs solve the problem by developing a digital twin that can land precisely using sensor data to optimize motion planning. A promising way to design, test, and improve UAV precision landing systems is to use digital twin technology. It can be used to design, test, and improve the way a drone lands precisely.
